Dr Theivasanthi (b May 25, 1978), Assistant Professor (Physics) at Kalasalingam University, Krishnankoil, Tamil Nadu successfully produced the world’s smallest particles of vegetables, measuring just 2 nanometre (nm) from broad beans, guar beans, bittergourd and ladiesfinger (okra). The size and magnetic character of these new particles were tested at SAIF, IIT Madras on April 25, 2014 and International Research Centre of Kalasalingam University on April 27, 2015 respectively. The new nanomaterial can be very useful in diabetes treatment.
