Twin sisters Tashi Malik and Nungshi Malik (b June 21, 1991) of Dehradun, Uttarakhand accomplished their Seven Summits mission as they completed scaling the highest peaks on seven continents. They became the first twin sisters to summit Mt Kilimanjaro (5,895 m) in Africa on Feb 2, 2012, followed by Mt Everest (8,848 m) in Asia on May 19, 2013, Mt Elbrus (5,642 m) in Europe on August 22, 2013, Mt Aconcagua (6,962 m) in South America on Jan 29, 2014, Mt Carstensz Pyramid (4,884 m) in Australasia on March 19, 2014, Mt McKinley (6,194 m) in North America on June 4, 2014 and finally Vinson Massif (4,892 m) in Antarctica on Dec 16, 2014. With this they became the world’s first and youngest siblings and twins to achieve the milestone. They also claimed the title of youngest South Asian Seven Summiteers and first Indian women to achieve it in the first attempt.
