Satish Vaijnath Bolegave, working at Shivajinagar Bus Depot in Maharashtra was travelling by a Shivneri Volvo bus of Maharashtra State Road Transport Company from Swargate to Lonawala to join the duty on April 11, 2014 when suddenly the driver collapsed due to a severe migraine attack and lost control of the bus near Kamshet tunnel on the busy Pune-Mumbai expressway. The bus carrying 45 passengers was running at a speed of 80 kmph. Sitting next to the driver, Satish (who had never driven a bus in his life) gathered courage and jumped into action – he took control of the bus, saved it from a crash with other vehicles and halted it at the side way. He then called for an ambulance service to save the driver.
