The Phoenix Library, Pune, Maharashtra established by JN Ponda on Oct 25, 1959, is a unique library where the owner takes personal interest in both the books and the 600+ loyal customers. It is the only library with clippings incorporated in books. The 39,400 books in English and Marathi have approximately 3,13,100 pasted clippings. There are 24,750 advertisements pasted in books. The library has 470 back issues of National Geographic Magazine and 132 issues of Life magazine. A bulletin of the library is pasted onto selected books, a sort of a periodical.
