Panchtatva – Celebrating Five Elements of Nature is a musical concert which celebrates the five elements of nature – earth, fire, water, air and space – using a combination of instrumental music, singing, visual effects and shloka recital. Each aspect is introduced by a shloka recital by Durga Jasraj and is followed by a musical recital capturing the elements. Well-known maestros characterise each element in their own way – Aakash (space) by Rattan Mohan Sharma and Ankita Joshi; Vaayu (wind) by Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia; Agni (fire) by Taufiq Qureshi, Selva Ganesh, Subhankar Banerjee and Sridhar Parthasarthy; Jal (water) by Pt Vishwamohan Bhatt and Prithvi (earth) by Ustad Rashid Khan. After each individual performance, the concert finally ends in a wave of music by all artistes to create a piece fit to describe ‘Life’.
