During the 3rd Sparshanandan Poetry and Art Festival of the Visually Impaired Poets and Deaf & Dumb Artists, 2015 (SPAF VIP DDA 15), held from Jan 19-22, 2015 at the Poetry Village, Rabindra Sadan - Nandan Campus, Kolkata, 45 visually-challenged poets attended and read their self-composed poems in Bengali. Of these, 19 read their self-composed poems on a single dais named Louis Braille Dais at Paschim Banga Bangla Academy Auditorium, along with poems of reputed Bengali poets in 99 min 52 sec on Jan 21, 2015. For the last 24 years (since 1992) the organisers have held self-composed poem competitions among the schools of visually impaired students and to accustom visually impaired poets with contemporary modern poems they have been publishing a magazine in Bengali Braille named Sparshanandan Drishtihinder Braille Patrika (SDBP) since 1992.
