In a first-of-its-kind people-friendly initiative, Adoor Prakash, Minister for Revenue and Coir, Govt of Kerala undertook a mass contact programme called Revenue Survey Adalath for disposal of pending files and petitions pertaining to land administration, conducted in all the 14 districts of the state in 14 days between Jan 8, 2015 and Feb 27, 2015. Accompanied by officials from the Department of Revenue and in the presence of representatives from local bodies, the minister reached the district headquarters and through his intervention, successfully disposed of 3,53,687 petitions on the spot. He also issued directions to settle the remaining ones within a month as the programme had received a total of 4,72,193 petitions.
