Delphinus, the channel swimming team of Indian Air Force, successfully swam around Mumbai in the Arabian Sea, covering 286 km in relay format in 49 hr 48 min 2 sec, making it the longest open water swim in Asia. Starting from Gateway of India at 2.45 pm on Oct 28, 2014, they swam in clockwise direction and completed the event on Oct 30, 2014. The six-member team comprised Wg Cdr Paramvir Singh (team leader), Sgt G Narahari, Sgt AK Patel, Sgt S Srihari, Cpl Anish Singh and LAC V Tokas. It was also the longest such event by any armed forces team in the world.
