Long distance runner Raj Vadgama (b June 18, 1967) of Mumbai successfully undertook Bharathon 10000, a unique ultramarathon connecting the four corners of India. He covered 9,902 km in 165 days between August 15, 2014 and Jan 26, 2015, making it the first and longest such self-supported cross-country run. He ran an incredible 60 km per day for 165 days across different terrains – deserts, mountains, plains, forests and sea coasts! Organised by Run India Sports Foundation, Mumbai, the run started and ended at the Gateway of India, Mumbai on the Independence Day and the Republic Day respectively.
