The world's highest restaurant, Triyagyoni, founded by Chef Sanjay Thakur with support from Chef Soundararajan Palaniappan, is situated at a height of 5,585 m (18,323 ft 5.89 in) at Imja Tse (Island Peak) Mount Everest, Nepal. The restaurant officially started operating on 30 May 2018 and served an eight-course menu created with local Himalayan ingredients. There were 11 diners on the launch day belonging to three nationalities- Indian, Polish and Nepalese.
