The Musalman, the oldest Urdu language daily newspaper, published in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is an evening paper of four pages, all handwritten by four calligraphers or katibs, and then printed. Established in 1927 by Syed Azmatulla, it has not missed a single day's publication. It has correspondents from all over the country and sells at 75 paise to about 25,000 subscribers. It is the world's only handwritten newspaper.
