India's first underground museum opened in the Rashtrapati Bhavan on 2 October 2016. The museum showcases a collecion of relics associated with each of the past presidents of India, including their personal belongings and vehicles, along with a range of materials reflecting the history of India's freedom struggle. The museum also has facilities for virtual-reality and multi-screen projects for story narration. The museum showcases more than 2,000 artefacts in a sprawling 130,000 sq ft (12,077 sq m) space.
