On 10 April 2017, the TU-142M (in pic) Long Range Maritime Patrol aircraft of the Navy landed on IN S Dega for the last time. The aircraft, which is the heaviest, fastest and highest flying turboprop aircraft in the world, was de-inducted on 29 March at IN S Rajali after 29 years of service. The Government of Andhra Pradesh had requested the Ministry of Defence to convert one TU-142M into a museum. The first TU-142M had landed at INS Rajali on 7 March 1992, marking the beginning of state-of-the-art long-range maritime air operations.
