YES Foundation, the CSR wing of Yes Bank founded in 2012, organised a countrywide short film making challenge, YES! i am the CHANGE, on social issues and received 1,666 films and over 20,000 online registrations for the project from August 15-19, 2014. A jury consisting of eight eminent personalities selected the winners and the 10 winners were awarded at a ceremony in Mumbai on Oct 30, 2014. Participants could shoot a film using any medium, digital camera or even mobile to make a 5-min film and upload it on YouTube for further evaluation. As part of the project around 533 workshops and screenings were held across India. The award-winning films were also showcased on CNN-IBN Citizen Journalist.
The filmmaking project was started by YES Foundation in 2013 (August 15-19) with workshops organised in 19 states during which the participants created 184 films. The idea behind the project is to inspire and involve youth through social media to bring about reformation and change in society and environment.
