Mumbai-based Bal Roadlines Pvt Ltd (BRPL) successfully transported an 18 m long, 7.8 m wide and 8.87 m high C2 Splitter Reboiler Drum for Larsen & Toubro Heavy Engineering from their plant in Vadodara, Gujarat to their client Reliance Industries Ltd at Jamnagar, covering 491 km by road in 42 days from June 18, 2015. The 180 MT weighing cargo hauled by a single hydraulic axle trailer started moving from Ranoli, Vadodara and was delivered to the client safely. The task involved 35 crew members, two escort vehicles and a crane. To make way for the monstrous equipment, they had to either open or temporarily dismantle 10 toll booths, 20 signboards, 100 high tension and over 1,000 low tension electric cables along the route! The challenging task was planned and carried out jointly by the BRPL team led by Inderjit Singh Bal together with a team of engineers from L&T, led by DP Arora.
