A 100-day Anti-liquor Walk by youth covering villages in all districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry began from Kanyakumari on Gandhi Jayanti, Oct 2, 2014 and concluded at Chennai on Swami Vivekananda Jayanti on Jan 12, 2015. The campaign was to create awareness on the bad effects of drugs and liquor, to push the state government for total prohibition and to create a new leadership in society on social issues. In all, 246 students, youth, women, social activists and politicians from seven states participated in the walk, with 25 of them walking continuously for 100 days. Some 2,00,000 pamphlets were distributed at various religious institutions.

At Loyola College, Chennai, a public hearing was held with the victims of liquor and drugs within the family. Women turned up in large numbers to testify to the impact of alcohol and drugs in the homes. On Jan 12, 2015, a huge rally was held at Marina Beach, Chennai demanding total prohibition in the state.
