Firefighting. Rescue. Evacuation.
That was the focus for a drill that was recently carried out at the Khurda plant of Hindustan
Organised for manufacturing industries, the firefighting drill saw Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Hindustan Unilever Ltd., Britannia Industries and several others take part in the programme.
The programme covered effective firefighting techniques, rescue and evacuation process during an emergency. Nearly 200 executives from all the industries were part of the drill also learnt the essential lifesaving skills and methods to effectively utilise any available resource at hand for rescue and evacuation, during an emergency situation.
In the district crisis group meeting held in the Khurda Collectorate, program convener Swaroop Jena, Asst. Director Factories and Boilers, Government of Odisha said, “We greatly appreciate the initiative taken by HCCB to organize the training program in collaboration with the concerned departments of Government of Odisha. Industrial fire safety is an area of critical importance as Odisha continues its march to become a preferred manufacturing hub in Eastern India.”
