The Disaster Management Cell, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, conducted a ‘Mega School Earthquake Evacuation Drill’ in 110 schools totalling 80,000 students on the same day and at the same time from 11:00 a.m. to 12.00 noon on 27 April 2017. Along with the school students, teachers, faculty, resource personnel, volunteers, observers of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) participated. The exercise was planned by the Local Town Planning Authority (Noida) in association with the District Administration (Gautam Buddha Nagar).
