Siddharth Sawant, a 11-year-old visually impaired seventh class student of Chandrakant Patkar Vidyalaya, Dombivli, Mumbai won the national award for the Best Creative Child with Disabilities and received the trophy from the President of India on Dec 3, 2014 at Vigyan Bhavan. He plays the tabla, synthesizer, drums and octopad and has performed publicly in Mumbai. He is also a good swimmer and has won medals at zonal and state level Para Olympic swimming competitions and participated in National competitions at Bengaluru and Indore. Also into acting, he played a lead role in the Hindi film Mutthi Bhar Sapne.
