New Delhi/Mumbai, 25th April, 2013: Coke Studio@MTV heralds its third season with a special ‘leapFROG to Coke Studio@MTV’ initiative, offering the best musical talent in the country a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to feature in the famed musical extravaganza. The ‘leapFROG to Coke Studio@MTV’ initiative, which is set to be held at the Blue Frog, Delhi and Mumbai over the coming month, will give bands playing Independent music a special chance to fast-track their way to glory. The winners of this initiative will go on to perform in a multi-producer episode of Coke Studio@MTV Season 3.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Wasim Basir, Director, Integrated Marketing Communications, Coca-Cola India says, “Every artist finds a unique expression in music, and Coke Studio is a one of its kind platform that has made an honest attempt to unite our diverse country’s myriad musical disciplines to create exceptional musical confluences. Building on the phenomenal success of Season 2 of the series that captured the imagination of Indian audiences with 12 breakthrough producers and over 200 incredible musicians, this year’s edition of Coke Studio@MTV will take the musical journey to the next level. As a precursor to season 3, the ‘leapFROG to Coke Studio@MTV’ initiative invites bands to send an original composition or a rendition of an original folk composition in the open domain, not belonging to any label. Entries can be sent to leapfrogtocokestudioatmtv@gmail.com. They can be in form of an attachment (audio/video files) or a link from YouTube. The top 24 selected bands will then go on to perform at the Blue Frog in Delhi and Mumbai to contest for the coveted spot that will elevate them among the country’s most gifted musicians.
