The Coca-Cola cricket coaching camps take forward Coca-Cola India’s commitment to promote a sporting culture and healthy active living in the country.
The Coca-Cola cricket camp was a day long affair that took place at Videocon School of Cricket,Central Park Cricket Ground,Sector-2, Karunamoyee, Salt Lake City, Kolkata, – 700091 on Feb 5th, 2013
This initiative brought budding cricketers and cricket greats on the same platform, the Kolkata leg of the camp had the legendary cricketer Venkatesh Prasad coaching the east zone teams
Camp to focus on cricketing skills, nutrition, fitness and a 360 degree approach to a healthy lifestyle
Kolkata, February 5, 2013: Coca-Cola India, the country’s leading beverage brand, provided the budding cricketers in Kolkata, an opportunity to access world-class training from ace cricketers. The Coca-Cola Cricket Coaching camps took place on the 5th of February, 2013 at the Videocon School of Cricket, Central Park Cricket Ground,as a part of the recently launched Toyota University Cricket Championship (TUCC),which saw the best university cricket teams from across the country participating in an enthralling battle of spirit and talent.
The Coca-Cola Cricket coaching camp bought a world class coaching experience to young cricketers from the selected university teams encompassing top eight teams from all four zones. In Kolkata the camp, was attended by the qualifying east zones teams from Jaunpur and Rewa, who were coached by veteran cricketer Venkatesh Prasad. Coca-Cola cricket camp looks at providing a platform to aspiring young cricketers to get an all round training experience.

Cricketer Venkatesh Prasad, said “the Coca-Cola cricketing camps has been an extremely satisfying and fulfilling experience. The current crop of young cricketers is extremely promising and I feel that with the right amount of training we can produce world-class cricketers. What`s important is to produce players that can excel in all forms of the game and it’s our job to encourage such talent across the country. During the teaching session at the camp I believe I have learnt as much, the zeal, enthusiasm and the sheer determination of not just the cricketers but everyone involved with this project is truly inspiring”. Naveen Tiwary, captain team Rewa was quoted saying “My team and I are extremely motivated and are very enthusiastic about participating in the Coca-Cola Cricket Coaching Camp. It is a great platform for aspiring cricketers like me to play with the best upcoming cricketing talent in the country, coupled with being coached by role models such as Venkatesh Prasad, this is a dream comes true”.

The TUCC is an extension of the prestigious RohintonBaria Tournament and the Championship matches will begin from 23rd February2013. The top eight teams from RohintonBaria will sweat it out, playing at various University grounds and International stadiums in New Delhi, Mumbai, Gwalior among other cities. The participating teams for the 2013 Championship that have been selected from the 4 regional zones are – JamiaMiliaIslamia, Aligarh Muslim University, AwadheshPratap Singh University, Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Mumbai University, Jiwaji University, University of Madras and Jain University. The teams for this Championship have been selected through the RohintonBaria Tournament, which involves participation from more than two hundred Universities and twenty lakh students across the country.
