Dr Theivasanthi (b May 25, 1978), Assistant Professor (Physics) at Kalasalingam University, Krishnankoil, Tamil Nadu successfully produced the world’s smallest anti-viral plant particles, measuring 85 nanometre (nm) from the plant Andrographis paniculata (called Kirayat or Kalamegha). The size of the new particle was measured at International Research Centre of Kalasalingam University on Dec 12, 2014. The new nanomaterial can be used in fight against viruses causing ebola, dengue, HIV, H1N1 etc.
