Jitendra Singh Gurjar who couldn’t join the Army, channelised his respect for the Army by writing to families of martyrs since the Kargil conflict in 1999. Jitendra, 37, who works as a security guard in Surat, has written nearly 3,000 such letters on postcards thanking them for the sacrifice made by the family and assuring them that the martyr will not be forgotten.
With his database of nearly 20,000 names he visits families of martyrs to assure them that there is someone in the country who thinks of their deceased relative with gratitude.
