Indian Railways launched the first semi-luxury train Tiger Trail Circuit train on June 5, 2016, the World Environment Day, to promote wildlife conservation. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off its inaugural run from Delhi Safdarjung station through video conferencing. The tourist train with a fivenight- six-day itinerary is operated by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Besides travel in a first class or 2-tier a/c coach, the package includes three tiger safaris, sightseeing, inter-city transfers, accommodation in luxury hotels, food and travel insurance. The circuit covers the best of wildlife sanctuaries in MP including Bandhavgarh and Kanha national parks.
