 Raj Kumar Vaish (b April 1, 1920) of Patna, Bihar enrolled for MA in Economics from Nalanda Open University, Bihar, on Sept 9, 2015, more than 77 years after graduating from Agra University in 1938. At 96+ years of age, he is the oldest person to take admission for a postgraduate course. University  officials relaxed norms to provide him his identity card and course material in English. In April 2016, he also became the oldest man to appear for the MA (Part1) exam conducted by the University. For an examination spanning 3 hours, Raj Kumar took 23 answer sheets.
