The Indian team finished second with nine gold, five silver and 10 bronze medals in the Junior World Cup held in Gabala, Azerbaijan in September 2016. India had eight individual medals, with Shubhankar Pramanick (50m rifle prone), Rushiraj Barot (25m rapid fire pistol), Sambhaji Patil (25m standard pistol) and Anhad Jawanda (25m sport pistol) winning gold, Gurmeet Singh (25m sport pistol), Anmol (air pistol) winning silver and Arjun Babuta (air rifle) and Gaayathri Nithyanandam (50m rifle 3- positions) winning the bronze medals.
