FolkFitness (TM) is a new exercise programme which incorporates the dance steps of various Indian folk dances. The special choreography for this new fitness work out picks up steps from dances like Garba, Bhangra, Bihu, Koli and Karakattam among various others from across India. Ashwin Pandey, Aarti D Pandey and Manoj K Upreti have developed this fitness workout The workout starts with meditation, upper body workout, lower body workout, cardio and flexibility drills for cooling down. They have separate choreographies for kids (FolkFitness – Nanhe), adults (FolkFitness – Yuva) and senior citizens (FolkFitness – Pranam). After 18 months of research the final choreography and music combination for the fitness routines were developed by the team and was officially launched, post trademark registration, at the ATP Fitness Convention Centre, Ahmedabad on Dec 11, 2015. Over 50 certified trainers of Folk Fitness were already working across the country by October 2016.
