Coca-Cola continues to work with Odisha: The Land of Opportunities

India has it all. Really, it does. Our eastern state of Odisha has everything from ancient temples, to craft, amazing surfing festival, and even splendid business opportunities. After-all, Bhubaneshwar has been ranked as the most business-friendly destination by World Bank.

Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha said, “Odisha will see investments as high as Rs. 2.5 Lakh Crores by 2025, creating 30 lakh job opportunities.”

As per Business Standard article, to achieve the Vision 2025 the state has aimed to draw investments worth Rs 2.5 Lakh Crore, primarily in its five thrust sectors with an employment potential of three million.

In July 2016, Indian Express reported that State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), in-principle approved 3 investments worth Rs. 874 Crore. Continuing with the aim to promote the opportunities in the state Make in Odisha Conclave was held in December 2016 with its focus on IT & electronics manufacturing, downstream & ancillary, food processing, petroleum, chemicals & petrochemicals and textiles & apparel.

With healthy policies in place, Odisha became one of the most sought after destinations by many organisations. Among 19 major investors who showcased interest, Hindustan Coca-Cola also promised an investment to expand its non-alcoholic plant, by adding the state-of-the-art PET Juice Line, at Food Park in Khurda, that would reach out to 13 states. This upcoming project seeks to create employment for 348 people, which will contribute to the larger goals of the state. This is not the first time they’ve invested in Khorda. They also got an approval in July 2016 to invest Rs. 500 Crore in a plant they’ve owned since the year 2000.

With Bhubaneshwar being ranked as the most business-friendly destination, the growth prospects for the state are abundant, making it the land of opportunities for many more businesses to come. Odisha is truly on its way to be one of the states that has it all.
