These crops have been evaluated and declared safe by organisations like the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. National Academy of Sciences. Back in 1974, the drink was introduced as ‘Sugar Free Sprite.’ It was then renamed ‘Diet Sprite’ in 1983 and was known in some other countries as ‘Sprite Light.’ In September 2004, its name was again changed to ‘Diet Sprite Zero.’ And finally in the summer of 2006, this product was renamed to what we now know it as today –‘Sprite Zero.’
