Born in 2002 in Haryana, Manu Bhaker is one of the youngest stars in shooting. Till the age of 14, she excelled at different sports, having won national level medals in boxing, skating and tennis. However, her true calling was shooting.
Manu first tasted success in 2017 Junior Asian Championships, winning a silver. She won 9 gold medals in 2017 National games, announcing her arrival on the Indian shooting scene.
At just 19 years of age, she enters Tokyo 2020 having won several medals across multiple events in both single & mixed shooting.
Manu Bhaker’s triumphs include gold in 10m air pistol & silver in mixed team 10m air pistol at the Youth Olympic Games in 2017, 2 gold medals in 10m air pistol events and a gold & silver in mixed 10m air pistol events at 2018 Junior World Cup, gold at both 10m air pistol & mixed team 10m air pistol at 2018 ISSF World Cup making her the youngest Indian to win gold in the World Cup. She has teamed up with Saurabh Chaudhry, winning multiple golds in 10m mixed pistol events in Delhi, Beijing & Munich at ISSF World Cup 2019 & gold at ISSF World Cup Finals at Putian 2019, also winning the individual gold for 10m air pistol at the same event. Her success at multiple events has earned her a place in both individual & mixed event at Tokyo 2020. Manu has maintained her training regime practicing Yoga & meditation to keep herself calm & ready to be the toofan jo sab palat de (the real storm is one that turns everything upside down).
In 2021, she has already won silver in her singles event and gold in her mixed event at the ISSF World Cup, Delhi.
