Acesulfame Potassium

Acesulfame Potassium, also known as “Ace-K”, is a low-calorie sweetener that is 200 times sweeter than sugar. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and other regulatory authorities worldwide have concluded that Ace-K is safe for use in foods and beverages.
 

Apple Juice concentrate

Fruits are often processed for extraction of the juice, and then the juice is heat treated at a certain temperature for a period of time to remove water. This process is called concentration. Concentrated fruit juices are further heat treated or stored in a very cold condition to keep it safe for consumption over a period of time. These are very commonly used in several food and beverage products across the world. Apple juice is often concentrated 6-7 times and then used in juice drinks, jams, jellies, squashes and so on. Artificial Flavoring/Artificial Flavoring substances

An artificial flavoring or artificial flavoring substance is used to provide flavor and aroma to foods and beverages.  It is a flavoring that is man-made.  It does not come from a natural source such as a spice, fruit, vegetable, herb or similar plant material. Artificial flavoring substances means those substances which have not been identified in natural products intended for human consumption either processed or not.  The chemical composition of an artificial flavoring may be the same as the natural flavoring.  Every ingredient in artificial flavoring has undergone safety and quality testing. 
 

Ascorbic Acid

Ascorbic Acid is also known as Vitamin C. Vitamin C is an antioxidant vitamin. It helps to protect body cells and tissues and helps to maintain healthy skin. Ascorbic acid is also used as a preservative in some products as indicated in the ingredient statement. 
 

Aspartame

Aspartame is a low-calorie sweetener made primarily of two amino acids; aspartic acid and phenylalanine. Aspartame is one of the most thoroughly researched ingredients in use today, with more than 200 studies confirming its safety. Only people born with PKU (phenylketonuria), a rare disorder, need to avoid phenylalanine, one of the components of aspartame, because their bodies cannot break it down.  

 

Beta-carotene

Betacarotene  is an additive which is used as a colouring matter in food and beverage. Betacarotene belongs to the class of carotenes which are classified as natural colouring as per Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. It gives a yellow to orange colour to the food or beverage. It is used in Minute Maid Mango to provide it the characteristic colour.
 

Banana Puree

Banana Pulp is prepared from selected varieties of Banana Fruits. Fully matured Banana fruits are harvested, quickly transported to the fruit processing plant to produce Banana pulp in large quantity for usage by several industries. Fully Ripened Banana fruits are then washed, peeled, pulped (the inner fleshy part of banana is taken), centrifuged (to separate the fleshy inner banana part from any suspended matter), homogenized (to give it a uniform texture), thermally processed and packaged hygienically (ensuring there is no contamination) maintaining high quality. Banana pulp contains the fruit components of banana and is used in Minute Maid Mixed Fruit. 

 

Caffeine

Caffeine comes from the leaves, seeds or fruits of more than 60 plants. Caffeine adds to the taste of our beverages. It is found in beverages and foods, such as coffee, tea, colas and chocolate. Caffeine can also be man-made. 
 

Canthaxanthin

Canthaxanthin is an additive which is used as a colouring matter in food and beverage. Canthaxanthin belongs to the class of carotenes which are classified as natural colouring as per Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. It gives a dark orange to reddish colour to the food or beverage. It is used in Minute Maid Guava to provide it the characteristic colour.
 

Caramel Color

Caramel color is made by a process involving the heating of corn or cane sugar and other carbohydrates to achieve the desired color.  Caramel coloring in beverages has been evaluated for safety by agencies like the Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives of the World Health Organization and the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has allowed the use of caramel in several food and beverage categories, it is classified as Natural Colour in India.
 

Carbonated Water

Carbonated water, also known as soda water, sparkling water, is water containing carbon dioxide under pressure and may contain any of the permitted ingredients and additives allowed by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. The water used in carbonated water conforms to the quality of packaged drinking water in India.
 

Carmoisine

Carmoisine is a colouring agent and is classified as synthetic colour by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. It imparts a light to dark red colour in food and beverage. Carmoisine is used in various categories of food and beverages like carbonated beverages, squash, jams, cakes, ice-creams. It consists essentially of disodium 4-hydroxy-3-(4-sulfonato-1-naphthylazo)-1-naphthalenesulfonate and subsidiary colouring matters together with sodium chloride and/or sodium sulfate as the principal uncoloured components.
 

Chicory Solids

Chicory is one variety of coffee which provides the strong flavour and taste of coffee. Chicory solids is the total soluble chicory component in the chicory powder used in Georgia coffee , which gives the characteristic taste to the coffee.
 

Citric Acid

Citric acid is the most widely used organic acid in the food industry and has been used for more than 100 years. Citric acid can be produced from different plant sources, including corn. It is also commonly found in citrus fruits such as lemon, orange and grapefruit, which is why it is named "citric acid." Citric acid is used in beverages to provide tartness. 
 

Soluble coffee solids

Coffee solids are the total soluble coffee component present in either Coffee extract or Coffee powder. Coffee solids in the form of Coffee Powder is present in Georgia coffee so that it gives the desired taste.

 

Ester Gum

In some beverages that contain citrus oils as flavorings like orange, lime, lemon oils, ester gum is used to prevent the flavoring oils from floating to the surface of the beverage. This is called an emulsifier or stabilizer. This additive is derived from the plant sources. Emulsifiers or stabilizers are substances which make it possible to form or maintain a homogenous mixture of two or more immiscible (insoluble) phases such as oil and water in a foodstuff.

 

Flavorings/Flavoring agents

Flavoring agents include flavoring substances, flavor extracts or flavor preparations, which are capable of imparting flavoring properties, namely taste or odor or both to food. The following type of Flavoring agents may be added to food as per Good Manufacturing Practices: -

  1. Natural flavors and natural favoring substances means flavor preparations and single substance respectively, acceptable for human consumption, obtained exclusively by physical processes from vegetables, for human consumption.
  2. Nature-identical flavoring substances means substances chemically isolated from aromatic raw materials or obtained synthetically; they are chemically identical to substances present in natural products intended for human consumption, either processed or not.
  3. Artificial flavoring substances means those substances which have not been identified in natural products intended for human consumption either processed or not;
     

Glycerol Ester of Rosin / Glycerol Ester of Wood Rosin

Ripened Guava fruits are washed, pulped (the inner fleshy part of Guava is taken), de-seeded, centrifuged (to separate the fleshy inner part from the fibrous part), homogenized (to give it a uniform texture), concentrated (removal of water to give a thick consistency to the guava pulp) when required, thermally processed and packaged hygienically (ensuring there is no contamination) maintaining high quality. The Guava fruit which is processed in this way is used in making several food and beverage products and is called the guava pulp. India is one of the major producer of Guava pulp in the world. Such Guava pulp is used in Minute Maid Guava and the fruit juice component present in the guava pulp is the guava juice.
 

Gum Acacia

Acacia, also called Gum Arabic, comes from acacia trees and is used to suspend certain ingredients that don’t mix well with water, creating a consistent beverage appearance and keeping the ingredients from separating out. In some beverages that contain citrus oils as flavorings like orange, lime, lemon oils, gum acacia is used to prevent the flavoring oils from floating to the surface of the beverage. This is called an emulsifier or stabilizer. This additive is derived from the plant sources. Emulsifiers or stabilizers are substances which make it possible to form or maintain a homogenous mixture of two or more immiscible (insoluble) phases such as oil and water in a foodstuff.

Mango Pulp

Mango Pulp is prepared from selected varieties of Mango Fruits. Fully matured Mango fruits are harvested, quickly transported to the fruit processing plant to produce mango pulp in large quantity for usage by several industries. Fully Ripened Mango fruits are then washed, pulped (the inner fleshy part of mango is taken), de-seeded, centrifuged (to separate the fleshy inner mango part from the fibrous part), homogenized ( to give it a uniform texture), concentrated (removal of water to give a thick consistency to the mango pulp) when required, thermally processed and aseptically (ensuring there is no contamination) filled maintaining high quality. India is one of the largest producer of Mango pulp in the world.

There are two varieties of Mango which are used in Maaza Mango, these are Totapuri and Alphonso. Maaza mango has 19.5% Mango juice coming from the combination of Totapuri and Alphonso Mango pulp.
 

Malic acid

Malic acid is a acidity regulator which is used in food and beverage to provide the sourly taste to food and beverage. Malic acid is naturally present in some fruits like apple, it is also produced on a large scale for use by food industries. Malic acid is used in Minute Maid apple to give it the desired taste. 
 

Milk solids

Milk solids are the total soluble milk component present in either milk powder, liquid milk. Milk solids in the form of Dairy Whitener is present in our Georgia tea and coffee so that it becomes a milk tea or coffee.
 

Mosambi Juice concentrate

Pectin

Pectin is a food additive which is used as a stabilizer or a thickening agent in food and beverage to provide it the desired thick uniform taste and consistency. Pectin is actually extracted from plant material, typically from fruits like orange, lemon, and apples. Pectin is produced in large quantity to be used in foods and beverages in industries.


Phenylalanine / Phenylketonurics

Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid (a building block for proteins). Some people born with PKU (phenylketonuria), a rare genetic disorder, need to avoid phenylalanine, one of the components of aspartame, because their bodies cannot break it down.
 

Phosphoric Acid

Phosphoric acid is used in certain carbonated beverages, to add tartness to the beverage. It is majorly used in cola flavored carbonated beverages. Phosphoric acid contains phosphorus, one of the basic elements of nature.
 

Ponceau 4R

Ponceau 4R is a colouring agent and is classified as synthetic colour by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. It imparts a light to dark red colour in food and beverage. Ponceau 4R  is used in various categories of food and beverages like carbonated beverages, squash, jams, cakes, ice-creams.

Ponceau 4R consists essentially of trisodium 2-hydroxy-1-(4-sulfonato-1-naphthylazo)-6,8-naphthalenedisulfonate, and subsidiary colouring matters together with sodium chloride and/or sodium sulfate as the principal uncoloured components.
 

Potassium Sorbate

Potassium Sorbate is used as a preservative and to protect taste and quality of the product throughout the period of its shelf life.

 

Common Salt

Common salt is the table salt that is used in food or beverage to give it the salty taste. Common salt is sodium chloride and this is one of the main source of sodium in our body, sodium is an essential mineral needed by the body to ensure health. Common salt is used in Aquarius to add mineral sodium to the drink and also to provide the desired taste to the beverage.Sodium Benzoate

Sodium benzoate is used as a preservative and to protect taste and quality of the product throughout the period of its shelf life.
 

Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose

Sodium Carboxymethyl cellulose is the food additive which is used in Maaza chunky. This is an additive which is used as a stabilizer to provide the desired consistency to the drink. It is the Sodium salt of carboxymethyl ether of cellulose which is approved to be used in several food and beverage categories by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. It is also used in other food preparations like jams, jellies. 
 

Stevia Leaf Extract

Stevia leaf extract is a zero-calorie sweetener made from the leaves of the stevia plant. Stevia, also called Stevia rebaudiana, is a plant in the Aster family native to South America. It is used in beverages to impart a sweet taste without adding any calories.
 

Sunset Yellow

Sunset Yellow is a coloring agent and is classified as synthetic colour by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. It imparts a yellow to orange coloring in food and beverage. Sunset yellow is used in various categories of food and beverages like carbonated beverages, squash, jams, cakes, ice-creams. Sunset Yellow  consists principally of the disodium salt of 6-hydroxy-5-[(4-sulfophenyl)azo]-2-naphthalenesulfonic acid and subsidiary coloring matters together with sodium chloride and/or sodium sulfate as the principal uncolored components.
 

Sugar

Sugar or sucrose is a caloric sweetener, which is used to sweeten our beverages and it provides calories. In India sugar is mostly made from sugar cane.  One gram of Sugar or sucrose provides 4 calories.
 

Tartrazine

Tartrazine is a colouring agent and is classified as synthetic colour by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. It imparts a light yellow to dark yellow colour in food and beverage. Tartrazine is used in various categories of food and beverages like carbonated beverages, squash, jams, cakes, ice-creams

Tartrazine belongs to the class of monoazo pyrazolone dyes. The dye consists of trisodium 4,5-dihydro-5-oxo-1-(4-sulfophenyl)-4-[(4-sulfophenyl)azo]-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxylate (Figure 1) and subsidiary colouring matters together with sodium chloride and/or sodium sulfate as the principal uncoloured components.
 

Tea Solids

Tea extracts or Tea Powders are used in regular tea including ready to serve tea produced by food industries. The total tea content in Tea powder or extract is called the tea solids. Tea solids in the form of a tea powder is used in ready to drink Fuze Tea.  
 

Toned milk

Toned milk is one variety of liquid milk which is produced by standardizing the fat content and the total solid content of the milk. Toned milk in India is required to have minimum 3% fat and the minimum solid not fat (the total soluble solids excluding the fat) to 8.5. It is generally prepared by the milk manufacturers using a combination of cow and buffalo milk. Toned milk is used in VIO milk and comprises of 90% of the beverage.
 

Tri-calcium phosphate 

Calcium Phosphate is used as a source of calcium, an essential nutrient for the body. Calcium is a major component of bones and teeth. 
 

Tri Potassium citrate 

Potassium citrate is used   to adjust the tartness of beverages and may also be used for addition of mineral potassium in beverage, for example in Aquarius.

 

Vegetable extract

Vegetable extract is vegetable matter extracted from some vegetables, and is sometimes used as a colouring agent, to impart suitable colour to food and beverage, for example beetroot extract to give red colour. Vegetable extract is used in our drink to give it the desired colour.
