With nearly 1000 schools directly impacted across the country, there are several important lessons learnt from Coca-Cola NDTV ‘Support My School’ programme.

Having involved District Education Officers, Panchayats, local elected officials, teachers, parents and community members, Support My School has been able to impress the importance of quality education for Indian children.

A number of partners from different sectors, including non-government organisations (NGO) and local officials have worked tirelessly, with Coca-Cola being the catalysing factor.

When Coca-Cola launched the ‘Support My School’ programme in important lessons 2011, in collaboration with various partners, the impact took a little while to show. In the schools that it was associated, the enrolment increased by 6.95 per cent in 2013-14 and by 14.77 per cent in 2014-15. As the Support My School programme spread its wings, it joined hands with ‘Swachh Bharat Swachh Vidyalaya’ campaign launched by the government.

All this was done by Coca-Cola in close association with its partners, who helped transform the idea into an active campaign which has impacted school children. The programme ensures access to potable water for students besides libraries and separate washrooms for boys and girls in schools.

With over 200,000 students impacted with the programme, it is now close to achieving its target of reaching out to students in 1000 schools across the country.
