~ The Winit Tikoo Band win the Leap FROG to Coke Studio@MTV contest AND a coveted spot ON Coke Studio@MTV Season 3 ~

New Delhi/Mumbai, 8th June, 2013: Winit Tikoo set the stage ablaze with their riveting musical performance that marked their entry into the 3rdSeason of Coke Studio@MTV as the winners of the keenly contested ‘Leap FROG to Coke Studio@MTV’ competition. Leap FROG to Coke Studio@MTV began as collaboration between Coke, MTV and blueFROG that focuses on the discovery of new musical talent and aims to give this talent a viable and popular stage as well as promotional tools via social and mainstream media.

The winners wowed both judges and the audiences with their soul stirring fusion renditions of their songs. The winning band will now be a part of the much anticipated Season 3 of the wildly popular Coke Studio@MTV.

Leap frog to COKESTUDIO@MTV began as collaboration between Coca Cola India, blueFROG and MTV. It leverages blueFROG’s Early Set – which aims to discover new talent, and blueFROG and MTV’s curation abilities, to pave the way for young bands to develop their art and forge a career in music. The end result is a more vibrant music scene, and the three companies will continue to strengthen this platform.

The finale saw electrifying performances by the top five bands from across the country, who made their way through hundreds of aspirants to the final leg of Leap FROG to Coke Studio@MTV’. The initiative attracted some of the most talented and diverse musicians from various genres of music, who battled it out on stage over a period of 6 weeks, to make it to the final round which was held on June 6th at blueFrog, Mumbai.

Mr. Simran Mulchandani, MD, blueFROG says, “24 talented bands, 4 weeks and 2 blueFROGs across Mumbai and Delhi, have made Leap FROG to Coke Studio @ MTV a mesmerizing journey. blueFROG, Coca Cola and MTV’s collective vision of transforming the blueFROG early set into the most prestigious platform to discover talent concluded on the 6th of June. 5 bands (2 from Delhi 3 from Mumbai) made it to the grand finale and battled it out for a spot on the nationwide TV show Coke Studio @ MTV. The winning band – Winit Tikoo – displayed a fabulous amalgamation of Urdu and Kashmiri elements backed by alt pop sounds. He was selected by the multi talented producers Hitesh Soni and Clinton Cerejo. I am very proud of what we have created and look forward to this continuing journey of finding new talent at the blueFROG Early Set and through leapfrog.

blueFROG (www.bluefrog.co.in) is a revolutionary integrated music project in Mumbai and New Delhi, India. It consists of the country’s premiere live music performance clubs, a music consultancy service, and a content creation and festival-programming agency.
