DEDICATE WATER TANK DESILTING WORK AND RAIN WATER HARVESTING PROJECT TO THE COMMUNITY
Sri Sarvaraya Sugars Ltd. launched the project in association with Coca-Cola India, as part of the company’s weeklong World Water Day celebrations
The structure was inaugurated by Chief Guest D. Brahmaswami, Head of Village Vemagiri and Vaidi Dhariya, Manager, Sri Sarvaraya Sugars Ltd.
The size of the Water Tank Desilting Work will be 28,870 square meter and the Rain Water Harvesting Structure will have a capacity to hold 23,506 kiloliters of water per annum
Vemagiri, 22nd March,2013: As part of its weeklong celebrations marking the World Water Day, Coca-Cola India in association with Sri Sarvaraya Sugars Ltd. today launched a Water Tank Desilting Work and Rain Water Harvesting Project for the people of Vemagiri. Over the past 10 years, Coca-Cola has reaffirmed its commitment towards water management and sustainability by actively participating in the celebrations of this landmark day through initiatives across the country. The dedication is a step forward on Coca-Cola’s commitment towards community level involvement to address and create awareness of water issues being faced by the people.
While the Water Tank Desilting Work will be 28,870 square meter in size, the Rain Water Harvesting Structure will have a capacity to hold 23,506 kiloliters of water per annum. Sri Sarvaraya Sugars Ltd has invested towards these projects in view of its sustainability agenda. The structures were dedicated to the community by Chief Guest Dr. Brahmaswami, Head of Village Vemagiri and Mr. Vaidi Dhariya, Manager, Sri Sarvaraya Sugars Ltd. The nationwide Coca-Cola celebrations will go on to touch the lives of over thousands of people and are in tandem with the United Nation’s commemoration of 2013 as International Year of Water Cooperation.
Appreciating the efforts undertaken for the initiative, Chief Guest Dr. Brahmaswami, Head of Village Vemagiri said, “It is important to create awareness of the role water plays in our lives and the steps we can take to encourage its sustainability.
