Coca-Cola honoured with 'Best Management Award' by the Government of Andhra Pradesh

Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. has been honoured with the 'BEST MANGEMENT AWARD' in the State by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for its people's management practices following a review by the State Labour Department. Mr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Honourable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh will present the award to the company at a simple function in Hyderabad on the occasion of Labour Day, May 1, 2005.

The Company provides direct and indirect employment to more than 2500 people in its five bottling plants in Andhra Pradesh situated in Ameenpur, Moula Ali (near Hyderabad), Vizag, Vijayawada, and Nellore. The Company has been recognized for its Best HR practices like KO Role Model -Deferred Rewards program, to reinforce performance and behavior, KO Key Contributor - Cash reward for superlative performance (CE & Solid Citizens) with citation & a gold pin, KO Vacations - A program to include the associate's family in celebrating his professional success by sending them on a vacation, motivational programs like Surge Beyond 100% to recognize team performance.

In addition to the professional growth of the employees, the Company also focuses on personal and social growth by involving employees in various corporate social responsibility projects undertaken in Andhra Pradesh. These include blood donation camps, health camps for local communities around the bottling plant, education support to local community, etc in association with NGOs like Red Cross and Hyderabad Round Table. In addition to the above, the Andhra Pradesh team came forward to donate generously to Chief Minister's Relief Fund during the tsunami tragedy besides working on location to help the victims.

The State Government of Uttar Pradesh, under the aegis of Directorate,Handicapped Welfare conferred Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd.,Varanasi with the Best Organisation Award for allowing differently-abled people to prosper & carve a niche for themselves in the professional world.

The Award was given by the Governor of the State, H.E. Shri T V Rajeshwar to the Area General Manager, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. Varanasi, Mr.Ashutosh Bhardwaj, in a function organized at Sahkarita Bhawan, Lucknow, to mark the World Disability Day on December 3, 2005.

According to Mr Ashitosh Bhardwaj, it’s a policy at Coca-Cola to give equal status & provide equal opportunity to the differently-abled people who are in a perfect physical condition.They are especially trained to carry out certain responsibility. Anomalies should not hamper the growth of an individual. At present, twelve differently-abled people are working as Bottle Inspectors (bottle supervisors) in the unit.

The Company shared this award with B.C.G. School for the Deaf, Varanasi.

Our Patna Unit has been awarded 'Corporate Social Responsibility Award' for the year 2004 05 by the J.M. Institute of Speech and Hearing, Patna. The award was given to the Patna Unit for the continued support provided towards upliftment of physically challenged children.

Since last one-year, the principal focus of Patna Units Citizenship activities has been supporting the physically challenged. The multiple initiatives in this direction include Organizing Sports for Deaf and Dumb , Cultural Programmes, Educational Trip to Plants etc.

The Award was presented to the AGM, Patna - Mr. Saurabh Pande, by the Lokayukth of Bihar, Shri Narmadeshwar Pande in a ceremonial function held in Patna on 24-September 2005, the International Deaf & Dumb Day.

has been honoured as the ‘BEST PRIVATE COMPANY’ in the State by the Government of Tamil Nadu for its contribution to the communities in providing employment opportunities to physically challenged people.
Ms. J. Jayalalitha, Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, presented the award to the company at a simple function here on the occasion of the occasion of Independence Day.

The Company employs 88 people with hearing and speaking disability, who work as “Special Inspectors” at its Nemam plant near Chennai. They have been trained by the Company to observe the bottles and check for any foreign particles during quality check.
