Coca-Cola India was conferred the Best Bhagidari Award in the Bhagidari Utsav, a colourful event organized to acknowlwedge & appreciate the success of the partnership between the Delhi Governmnet & the Civic Agencies, Citizen Groups, Corporates & NGOs in the field of water conservation , environment management & Community Development programmes . Around twelve thousand people from Delhi gathered at Pragati Maidan to celebrate the bonhomie, their Bhagidari with the government.Hon'ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Ms Shiela Dixit presented Mr Atul Singh, President & CEO, Coca-Cola India, with a citation for the pathbreaking initiatives undertaken by the company in the filed of Rain Water Harvesting, Paper Reycling, Tree Plantation Drive & PET recycling projects in Delhi.
The Company has already executed nearly 200 rain water harvesting structures across 17 states & has plans to undertake 40 new rain water harvesting projects during the current year.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Atul Singh said that "Water is a subject that is loaded with urgency and even emotion. It is a critical global challenge and it will take a wide variety of efforts, most of them at a local level to overcome the problem.At Coca-Cola we have undertaken numerous projects across the country in partnership with local communities for their development and we continue to look for areas where private-public partnerships can bring about good results."
Myriad cultural programmes were organized to add colour to the event including Bhagidari Dance, songs, plays where children participated actively to entertain the crowd & also to spread the message of Bhagidari. Various stalls were also organized to showcase the work done by the Delhi Government in partnership with Civic Agencies, Citizen Groups , Corporates & NGOs.
Coca-Cola India was the only Corporate to be conferred with this prestigious Bhagidari Award.

Honourable Chief Minister of Delhi, Ms. Sheila Dikshit presented a Commendation
Certificate to Coca-Cola India for its contribution in the Bhagidari scheme
recognizing the Company's efforts and contribution towards community development
programs.The Company received the award at a glittering ceremony during the Bhagidari
Utsav at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. The utsav was attended by more than
5,000 citizens of the city. Bhagidari celebrates the spirit of collective responsibility
between citizens and Government agencies for improving urban infrastructure and
environment.
On receiving the award, Division President, Mr. Sanjiv Gupta
said, We are honoured to get this recognition. Citizenship at Coca-Cola India
is integral to our business and we continue to work with local communities across
the country.
