vermicomposting
Bottling operations in selected areas (Pune, Wada, Bhubhaneswar, Bhopal, Ludhiana, Amritsar, and Nabipur) have implemented “Wermicomposting” in the treatment of organic, domestic waste generated at the plant’s canteens.
The process involves the introduction of micro-organisms and worms to the waste, turning raw, organic matter into a stable product known as “Wermicompost”. The compost is rich in nutrients, and when used as manure, improves the structure, texture, aeration, and water retention of soil. It also helps in properly balancing the pH level of the soil, and in healthy root development of plants.
