In year 2002, The Company initiated rainwater harvesting program at its manufacturing locations to harness ground water through storm water recharging.
By 2007, Company has created a Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) potential (both inside as well as outside the plant) of 3.17 million cubic meters (MCM), which is approximately 88% of the groundwater used by company in India.
The company plans to become “Water Positive” (wrt to groundwater used by company in India) organization by creating providing RWH structures inside the plants as well as outside the plants by the year 2009. |
