Students, teachers, officials from the department of Environment, Delhi Government and principal, Bal Bhawan Public School taking oath to save Mother Earth at the launch of paper recycling project.

Coca-Cola India in association with the Department of Environment (Delhi Government) launched Paper Recycling Project in Bal Bhawan Public School (Mayur Vihar) on the auspicious occasion of Earth Day 2004. This program covers four more schools namely, Sanskriti School (Chanakyapuri), St. Francis De Sales Sr. Secondary School (Janakpuri), Salwan Public School (Rajendra Nagar) and Green Field Public School (Dilshad Garden), in the initial phase. CCI contributed 50% of the total cost towards setting up the paper recycling machines across all participating schools, while the balance has been provided by the Department of Environment, Government of Delhi and the schools themselves.

The enthusiastic Eco-Club members from Bal Bhawan Public School and other schools in the neighbourhood attended the inauguration of paper recycling machine.

The objective of this project is to inculcate the importance of environment protection among the students and teach them about forest conservation as wood is the key ingredient for manufacturing paper. This project also seeks to create a litter-free environment for the students.
