Towards empowering women and promoting diversity, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages celebrated the International Women's Day on March 8
th
, 2010, by organizing a
"Mahila Swasthya Shivir"
( Women's Health Camp) at the Dasna (UP) and Mehandiganj (Varanasi, UP) units. The Shivir was based on the theme "Women and Health". In all, around 900 women participated in these camps.

On Saturday 6th March and Monday 8th March, 2010, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages along with its NGO partners - Gram Niyojan Kendra and SADRAG organized the "Mahila Swasthya Shivir" at Kakrana and Khichra villages in Dasna, UP. The objective was to reach out to large section of the local community especially women and educate them about several health issues. In all, the celebrations saw the participation of nearly 300 women from Kakrana, Galand, Khichra, Poothi Hassanpur, Piplehda, Dehra and other neighbouring villages.

Similarly on Sunday 7
th
March, 2010, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, Mehandiganj, Varanasi, UPorganized a "Mahila Swasthya Shivir" along with its NGO partner - Center for Social Research. Over 600 women from the neighboring villages of Mehandiganj, Kallipur, Bhikaripur and Lehartara participated in the camps.
These initiatives involved free medical camps for women. The visiting doctors included Gynecologists, General Physicians, Child Specialist and doctors from Primary Health Centres who highlighted the importance of health and hygiene. Also free medicines such as Iron and Calcium tablets were also given to the needy women.
Adding a local flavor to the celebrations, cultural programs were organized by members of the community. Folk music, skits by children, song and dance performance by women from the local community formed the part of celebration. Several songs were sung highlighting the benefits of health, hygiene and sanitation. Several eminent personalities including Pradhans, doctors, community leaders and officials of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverage attended these camps.
